This year the enormous prize was bagged by an Australian photographer, Jim Picot for his aerial shot named Love Heart Of Nature. The background of this photo is the fresh blue sea where a shark is seen swimming amongst a herd of salmon.
The vision of the photographer left everyone awe-struck as he captured the movement of salmon, which looked like a heart. It was a beautiful moment captured by an intelligent photographer who underwent a lot of research to depict the natural beauty of the self-sustaining sea.
Alien Structure On Earth By Tomasz Kowalski
Another lauded winner was Tomasz Kowalski who clicked Alien Structure On Earth. He clicked an aerial shot of the Petronas twin towers, which are beautiful skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur.
From the height of the sky, the towers look eccentric, almost unearthly through which Tomasz wanted to change our perspective about the strength of a structure.

Frozen Land by Alessandra Meniconzi won in the category of People in the awards. On the sled in focus are seated inhabitants of the Eurasian steppe.
The winters there go below 30 degrees Celsius, and even in such pinching cold, local life does not stop. Instead, this is how people travel across rivers and lakes, making a great depiction of domesticated life. The frozen water looks beautiful and nerves-like, making it a part of us.
The Gray Whale Plays Pushing Tourists By Joseph Cheires
Joesph Cheires’s shot, Gray Whale Plays Pushing Tourists is an idyllically timed moment that won in the “Nature” category.
The whale featured here is known to playful toy with boats that come in this lake for a ride. This shot is an epitome of communion between man and animals, taking us back to our ancestral roots.
Phoenix Rising By Paul Hoelen
Winner of the Abstract category, Phoenix Rising by Paul Hoelen made everyone’s jaws drop. The rainbow-hued shot which transforms into a swirly aesthetic pattern is actually the depiction of a regeneration process at the industrial mining site of Lake Owen.
The name of the shot comes from a bird who regenerates from its own ashes and that’s the image that this shot aims to evoke.
