In this week’s travel vlog we’re beaching bumming it up in Santos, located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Whether you’re looking for chilled Brazilian beach vibes or a place to party, Santos is the perfect weekend travel destination for all ages! Not only is Santos a popular beach destination, the Port of Santos (Porto de Santos) is the busiest port in Latin America, making it a hugely popular destination for holiday-makers ending their cruise to Brazil. Many even begin their Caribbean cruises or adventures around Latin America in Santos, Brazil. Check out what we got up to!
How To Get To Santos
If you’re stuck wondering how to get to Santos from São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, the most common way is by bus. If you’re in São Paulo, buses run to Santos from Terminal de Jabaquara every couple of hours. Bus companies include Cometa and Expresso Luxo. If you’re in Rio de Janeiro, buses depart from the Novo Rio bus station approximately 4 times per day. The nearest airport to Santos is Congonhas – São Paulo Airport which runs domestic flights. This airport is 69km from Santos so you could either catch a taxi to the bus station and go the rest of the way by bus or you could do the entire trip by taxi or Uber. We paid R$140 ($37 USD) for a very comfortable Uber ride from São Paulo to Santos.
Where To Stay In Santos, Brazil
Depending on your budget there are many options for accommodation in Santos. On this particular weekend we were in that ‘chilled out’ travel kind of mood so we opted for a hostel called Zé Caramujo which was located only 10 minutes walk away from the beach. If you would prefer to stay somewhere a little more sophisticated there are some great Santos hotel deals on booking.com.
